The government has decided to give identity cards or freelancing IDs to about 6 lakh freelancers or independent professionals in the country. The card that freelancers can use as proof of their employment, earnings and skills.
The card will also facilitate things like banking, visa application, home or office rent.
Recently, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated a virtual freelancer ID program. State Minister for Information Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak said that although the issue of freelancing was known, many people had problems with their identity. That problem is going to be solved by getting a freelancer card.
A web portal has already been created for issuing freelancing ID cards. ID cards can be collected through registration by entering the Freelancer.gov.bd website.
After entering the website https://freelancers.gov.bd/ and clicking on the Apply Now option, the registration form will come up. The next steps need to be followed. You can also click on the Learn More section next to the Apply Now option to know more details.
The idea is that the freelancer ID card process will make young people interested in the outsourcing sector. At the same time, this identity card will play a significant role in empowering freelancers as well as empowering them.
