Digital Bangladesh Day 2020 will be celebrated on December 12 in all districts and sub-districts of the country and in the embassies of Bangladesh abroad with the theme ‘Even though I am far away, I am connected’.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology Junaid Ahmed Palak made the announcement at a press conference at the BCC Auditorium at the ICT Tower in Agargaon on Friday (November 26th).
On the occasion of the day, a wreath will be laid at the portrait of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, the father of the greatest Bengali nation of all time, at Dhanmondi No. 32 on December 12 at 7.30 am at the initiative of ICT Department. According to the program of the day, the inaugural and prize giving ceremony of the 4th Digital Bangladesh Day 2020 will be held at 10 am and the national seminar on Digital Bangladesh Day 2020 will be held at 3 pm. An international seminar on the 12 years of Digital Bangladesh will be organized under the leadership of the Prime Minister at 8 pm. Sajeeb Wazed Joy, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Information and Communication Technology, will be the chief guest and keynote speaker at the seminar.
As part of the celebration of the day, a quiz competition will be organized on December 8 at 8 pm through online platforms across the country. Participants in the quiz competition have to register by visiting this website www.quiz.digitalbangladesh.gov.bd between November 26 and December 7. Apart from this, on the occasion of the day, 12 years of achievements and achievements in building a digital Bangladesh were highlighted, supplements were published in important national dailies, talk shows were aired in various electronic media, two webinars were organized in Bengali and English highlighting the aims and objectives of the day. Essays on various topics of Bangladesh, present lectures, painting competitions, meetings, seminars, workshops will be organized. Apart from this, awareness dramas will be performed and prizes will be distributed among the best individuals, organizations and entrepreneurs.
Speaking as the chief guest at the press conference, the ICT state minister said, “Digital Bangladesh belongs not only to the Awami League, but to 160 million people.” Every person in every house is enjoying the benefits of Digital Bangladesh. With the help of digital technology, the people of the country have been able to stay connected to the Corona epidemic. Education, health, agriculture, the courts, the supply system and even the judiciary have been kept afloat.
Later, the state minister officially inaugurated the Digital Bangladesh Day logo and the web portal of the quiz competition.
